History
ShipTrack was founded in 2012 by three technology entrepreneurs. After starting a successful company in 2007 delivering managed mobility services to the transportation industry, they saw a need to take a more solution driven approach to selling hardware and services.
In 2011, during the return trip from a transportation conference, the group discussed the tremendous investments large delivery firms were making in mobile computers to support their operations. The conversation turned to the potential of less-expensive iOS and Android smartphones in reducing costs for delivery firms. The ‘aha’ moment arrived when the group’s founder challenged his partners by asking them, “Why don’t we build and offer the software ourselves”.
Originally deployed in 2012, ShipTrack was spun off in 2018 into its own entity and now manages millions of shipments every day and has evolved to become one of the most scalable and innovative platforms in the world.
